Referencing these videos as well as the linked course materials and textbook chapters, address the following in this discussion:

The textbook proposes four theories to explain gang violence. I ask you to choose one of these two: Strain or Cultural Deviance. Which do you think better helps explain the approach to interrupting violence seen in Gangs: Beyond Drugs and Violence documentary? Why? Cite at least one of the three cases explored to support your choice.

How do drugs and alcohol fit within the context of gang violence?
