"The System Development Life Cycle SDLC was established as a process to help create software that would help in the quality and effectiveness for the launch of a SaaS product. Its purpose is to make sure the software runs as smoothly before and after its launch so it meets the quality the customer expects for its production Clark Some of the common SDLC models include the following:
Agile Model: This model focuses on making incremental changes throughout the development of the softwares cycle. This is done to catch issues early on and have flexibility to adapt where required. However, too much reliance on customer feedback could hinder the results as excessive changes could lead to delays or completely stop the project altogether.
Waterfall Model: This model focuses on smaller projects that have each phase completed in order before moving onto the next. While it does give the project management team a sense of structure, it can become harder to make changes after each phase has been completed.
Iterative Model: This type of model is best for projects that require more flexibility as its structured to have multiple versions of the software until the project management team feels it's ready for production. Risks are considered manageable, but resources might be underestimated if not properly handled.
Spiral Model: This model is a combination of both the iterative and waterfall model as it allows for multiple versions of the software, while also prioritizing having a sequential order until the project is completed.
Big Bang Model: This model differs from the rest mentioned above as it follows an approach with minimal or no extensive planning. Developers go straight to coding and could require rework of the entire software should any changes be required. This is better suited for smaller projects when requirements arent fully established or there is no planned date to release the software.
With all the models described above, I would say GGFRT would benefit mostly from the Iterative Method. Because GGFRT has more than one strategic objective they want to meet, I believe this model would equip them with the resources to achieve their plan. This is because each objective GGFRT is trying to meet would have plenty of room for flexibility, which is especially important in areas such as freight tracking, cost reduction, and customer service. However, a possible challenge that might disrupt a successful implementation of this model is miscommunication as critical steps might get misinterpreted along the way if not discussed thoroughly. To prevent this, its important the project management teams set up routine meetings to discuss the progress of the software and ensure theyre fully understood by the team before moving on to the next step in the cycle."
