Classmate Question: No, I do not believe that the federal government and its regulatory agencies are doing an effective job of policing white collar crime. The reason for my theory is the fact that it is stated in the e-text that white collar crime is not a principal concern of law enforcement agencies. Police has lacked jurisdiction, expertise and resources. Other countries have more power in this area while the United States does not. However they have recognized the need to develop in this area. Many factors limit substantial involvement of conventional police forces in white collar crime cases. The principal training of police personnel is oriented towards conventional crime.
