When it comes to having employees, I think that the business should be well represented within each employee. They are the forefront of the business so it is important to be well represented in that aspect. For my business I would be looking to find employees who are passionate about health and fitness. This would allow for them to be able to have bigger opportunities in the business and be able to do things like set ups personal trainings. I would ideally want to have employees that are able to be self sufficient and have self autonomy. This would take ease off of the business administration in a sense. This would also help create a culture of being invested in the community as well. One of the main goals is to be a community staple, and I think that having the right people in place can help bring in the community and help the business create relationships.

My business plan developed throughout this course has been for a small and personal artist business. In this discussion I will proceed under the assumption that the artwork has been trademarked and the business has grown to necessitate a production facility. With the business being successful enough to expand, measures would be taken to ensure that it remained profitable. It would also support competitive wages and insurance for prospective team members.

The hiring process will open postings until a viable pool of applicants is assembled. Interviews will take place over a few days so that each applicant has an equal time to prepare with due diligence. Once all applicants have interviewed, if there are sufficient qualified people for the team there would be second interviews and job offerings. At this point it would be decided whether or not to keep the job posting open for further hiring.

The company will hire a couple techs with experience in production, a couple of artists with experience in design and a couple of professionals to support logistics. The team will be overseen by the origional artist/ owner. Hiring in pairs will support collaboration of projects within each group and also provide coverage and a work life balance that is attractive. To be certain that all team members have a voice in confidence and collectively, each would have time to meet with the owner regularly as well as the team meeting as a whole often with an open agenda.

This exercise and discussion will be helpful for my business even though currently staffing growth is not foreseen. This will help explore in case if it were to happen, how would it be done as it is always important to be a couple steps ahead in order to be prepared. If this business could not keep up with demand and was profitable, then there would only a couple options. One could be to expand, and another would be to limit expansion and adjust pricing structure.
