The case analysis will be graded on the basis of comprehensiveness, logic, sound application of course theory, reasonability and practicability. So, in your analysis be certain to pull ideas/concepts/theories from this or any previous seminar to justify your recommendations, alternative courses of actions, etc. Directions for how to solve a case-study. Case questions:
  1. Describe Meindles leadership style. Discuss examples from the case.
  2. Describe the use/misuse of power by Meindle. Be certain to use a power taxonomy of your chosing in your analysis.
  3. Discuss how cultural differences might have had an influence in this case. Analyze these differences using Hofstedes (1980) cultural dimensions.
  4. What alternatives do the four managers have to solve the dilemma they face? What are the implications of each alternative?
  5. As discussed in question four, the four managers could circumvent Meindle and address their concerns directly to Zeltes owner, Dr. Fischer. Assume, because of the physical distance involved and for the sake of formality, that the four managers opted to express their concerns to Dieter Fischer in a letter. Draft a letter to Dr. Dieter Fischer of Zelte GmbH that would exemplify the concerns and issues in this case.
