Classmate Question: Political white collar crime in the executive branch is the most serious. This type of crime affects the people whether they notice it or not. Presidents have been caught accepting bribes and pay offs. This type of corruption in government makes us lose faith in our government to make choices in our best interest. Instead, the political leaders who run the country make choices based on their best interest. When money is illegal obtained from contractors/companies by the government, that money goes into the pockets of politicians instead of the government which leaves the government lacking funds for society. This is when taxes get raised. The taxes get paid by the people and the contractors/companies evade their taxes due to the deal they made with the government officials.
