This question is general, nothing is missing, and no extra data is needed. Please read my statement below about Microsoft and explain why you agree or disagree with my opinion.
Microsoft Incorporated's values are Respect, Integrity and Accountability, straight forward and vague, but they seem to stay true to them(Microsoft.com, 2021).The first two are self-explanatory and obvious, they want to give and receive respect from their employees and customers, and one way to ensure this is with integrity.Accountability seems to be especially important to them, it is also a descriptor of their organizational culture. They want their products and services to operate as advertised and if they do not, they will accept accountability for the failure or success.
Since the values are vague, it is hard to say if they align with quadrant III of the Grand Strategy Selection Matrix. These values could however conflict with their strategy, for example, they may have to limit operations that would cause significant environmental or humanitarian impacts. If they could build a factory in a third world country with less regulations for environmental policies, these values could conflict with that and their desired public image.Another example may be the similar growth of outsourcing, this may not align well with their values.By hiring foreign companies, employees, and labor at fractions of the cost for the same services in the U.S., their public image and values would be in question.
These values align with their vision statement of "empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more"(Microsoft.com, 2021).Achieving more through accountability in their products and services, being known as a mutually respected company that strives for transparency with its policies, culture, and environmental impact.I think that Microsoft does well at achieving their values and their strategies, while vague, do not contrast with their grand strategies and mostly support them.
