Personally, when I was working in high school at a caf, the leading chef never really knew how to get their staff in the right rotation for the caf to open and he did not know how to talk to his employees. From the point everyone came into the caf people did not know what they were doing, if their proper amounts of food, and while cooking he would be yelling at everyone. He later found out that all of those people that were working for him, that they were doing unprofessional things in the caf. For example, they were stealing money from the caf, stealing food while people were out of the caf, and doing some unorthodox things to people that ordered food and they did not really like them or they customer came in with a bad attitude. Eventually upper management stepped in and did away with the old staff, but they kept me on because, I was not like the rest of the old staff.
I for example did the job that I was hired for and did not let my emotions get involved when I had customers that did not necessarily come in happy. By keeping on with the new staff, upper management had me training the new staff being that I was already qualified for the job when I was hired. I believe that if I were given the opportunity to help change someone to better themselves, u would because like myself I had help first learn what I know to be in the position that I am in now. If I had the choice to coach someone, I would in a heartbeat because no one is too old or too young to learn. This is why coaches are put in place and that acknowledge that everyone even themselves may still need a coach at any point in time.
Coaching is a productive initiative in companies which has achieved increasing consideration from experts. Trained experts have proposed that managers should surrender some of their delegated power and, begin to play new roles as coaches who direct associates behavior on the job. Coaching has been considered as a productive leadership initiative for expediting associate learning and development and improving associate performance and productivity (Huang & Hsieh, 2015). Coaching pertains to a continuing procedure of assisting associates to develop themselves not only for enhancing personal job performance, but also for maximizing individual career potential (2015).
