In my work as an HR professional negotiating and facilitating negotiations is an everyday occurrence. For example, from a

management perspective, you must understand that it is important to show your employees that you value them. A great way to

show the employee they are valued is to listen to their concerns and their goals and to work with them to fix concerns and achieve

their goals. Many employees are happy with intangible forms of recognition, but for some others, it is important to be rewarded

monetarily in the workplace; this is accomplished through salary negotiation. Once I understand how important a proposed salary

can affect an employee's morale I will try to accommodate this need as much as possible. A great way to accommodate the needs of

the employee, as well as the needs of the organization, is to find a win$-$win solution.

When negotiating with employees I use Integrative Bargaining. Distributive bargaining can be very harmful to relationships and as

an HR professional; it is crucial that we can maintain a positive coworker relationship with other employees. Integrative bargaining is

also applicable when facilitating negotiations between two employees$($HR is often used as a $3$rd party facilitator$).$ Integrative

bargaining allows both parties to feel like they are being heard. Integrative bargaining requires both parties to meet in the middle

and find a mutually beneficial agreement.
